Essential Oils

Never use essential oils undiluted as they are far too potent and could be more harmful than helpful. For infants and elderly never use more than 1 drop essential oil to each ounce of base oil and keep away from nose and mouth of infants, babies and elderly.

Amyris

The oil is extracted from wood chips of the tree. Its aroma is sweet and smoky. It has been used as a cheap substitute for East Indian Sandalwood (Santalum album).

Amyris is used for soapmaking, candlemaking, lotions, salves, and aromatherapy applications.

Essential oils should never be applied directly to the skin. Always use essential oils by first diluting them into a carrier oil such as Sweet Almond oil, olive oil, shea butter or other skin friendly oil/butter.

Cedarwood is basically a plant native to cold climates and is normally found at high altitudes. The chief components of Cedarwood Essential Oil are Alpha Cedrene, Beta Cedrene, Cedrol, Widdrol, Thujopsene and a group of Sesquiterpenes.

Lemon essential oil has long been used as a cleaning agent and can be combined with distilled water, lemon juice and hydrogen peroxide for an inexpensive, safer and more ecologically friendly bleach for your clothing. Known for its wound protection properties as this concentrated citrus is considered anti-bacterial and anti-virul. Care should be taken when applying Lemon essential infused carrier oils to the skin as Lemon is one of the few phototoxic oils that may increase risk to serious sun burns, blisters, color changes to skin and swelling. Using lemon essential infused carrier oils should be limited to spot use on wounds and other areas not exposed to the sun.

Wintergreen Oil

Wintergreen oil has been used topically (diluted) or aromatheraputically as a folk remedy for muscle and joint discomfort, arthritis, poor circulation, rheumatism, tendinitis, eczema, psoriasis and headaches for generations.

The liquid methyl salicylate which is wintergreen, is a natural "aspirin". Overuse of wintergreen essential oil is as dangerous as overuse of the commercial chemically compounded aspirin tablet. However, unlike aspirin, wintergreen essential oil should not be ingested.
